"The Franco-Belgian Pierre Cordier (born 1933) invented the chemigram by chance in 1956, writing with nail polish on a print. Since then, he has continued to experiment with the interaction of various products (from the most ordinary, such as washing-up liquid, to the most chemically complex) with the salts of photographic papers. In this way he has managed to create sophisticated, modular, mysterious, magical images. This monograph is a remarkable presentation of his work exploring virgin territory, on the borders of photography, painting and engraving", says Marc Lenot.
