(EN) By reconnecting with the tangible, photography enters a period of transition. This work reveals the vitality of a new part of the contemporary photographic creation. For the last twenty years or so, many photographers have been developing original practices, concerned with ethics and ecology. Far from embodying marginal experiences, these alternatives form on the contrary a powerful groundswell. Some artists value old processes, a slow temporality and forms of co-creation. Many appropriate vernacular archives by hybridizing photography with manual arts like collage and embroidery. Still others amplify photography through installations. Activism and poetry mix to propose worlds where it is a question of materiality, gesture, reconciliation and resilience: it is in the body of photography that artists seek to reread the world and invent new ones, through utopias where the imaginary allows to go beyond the cult of images. (FR) En se reconnectant au tangible, la photographie entre dans une période de transition. Cet ouvrage révèle la vitalité d’un nouveau pan de la création photographique contemporaine. Depuis une génération, quantité de photographes nourrissent en effet des pratiques originales, soucieuses d’éthique et d’écologie. Loin d’incarner des expériences marginales, ces alternatives forment au contraire une puissante lame de fond. Certains artistes valorisent ainsi des procédés anciens, une temporalité lente et des formes de co-création. Beaucoup s’approprient des archives vernaculaires en hybridant la photographie avec les arts manuels comme le collage et la broderie. D’autres encore amplifient la photographie par le biais d’installations. Activisme et poésie se mêlent pour proposer des mondes où il est question de matérialité, de geste, de réconciliation et de résilience : c’est dans le corps de la photographie que les artistes cherchent à relire le monde et en inventer de nouveaux, par des utopies où l’imaginaire permet de dépasser le culte des images. En se reconnectant au tangible, la photographie entre dans une période de transition.
