ANNE-CAMILLE ALLUEVA

Born in 1984 in Toulouse, Anne-Camille Allueva lives and works in Paris. She graduated from the Haute École des Arts du Rhin in Strasbourg (2008) and from the École Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie in Arles (2013). She has been represented by Galerie Bigaignon since 2023, where she will present her first solo exhibition.

At the intersection of photography, sculpture, and installation, her reflective practice questions the conditions under which the image emerges and its sensory relationship to space. She approaches the image as a material, a surface traversed by phenomena of opacity, transparency, reflection, and distortion. Her works, primarily made from concrete, glass, photographic paper, or screens, move away from the traditional photographic "program" to engage a broader reflection on visibility, materiality, and the conditions of perception.

Her artistic gesture explores thresholds and opens a perceptual dialogue, an ever-evolving experience of the visible. Some of her pieces take the form of photographic objects, while others initiate immersive and expanding installations.

Her work has been shown in numerous group exhibitions, including at the Centre Photographique d'Île-de-France (La photographie à l’épreuve de l’abstraction, 2020), the Bonisson Art Center (Ligne(s) de Mire, 2025), the Bibliothèque Nationale de France (Épreuves de la matière, 2023), the Biennale de l’image tangible, La Galerie Particulière in Paris and Brussels, Extra Fort Recyclart (Brussels), and Galerie Bigaignon (Perceptions radicales, 2022; La dialectique de l’ombre, 2023; Et si tout n’était que mirage ?, 2024).

She has received institutional support from the DRAC Occitanie, the Occitanie Region, and the Lot Department. Her work is part of the Artothèque du Lot collection. In 2021, she was awarded the exceptional photography research grant organized by the CPIF.

She self-published Particles (2017) and her work has been featured in several key publications, including Contre-culture dans la photographie by Michel Poivert (2022) and the proceedings of the Actes et images symposium at ENSP (Les Presses du Réel, 2019). She is currently developing an artistic research project in collaboration with the CPIF.
